Laurel’s 1st Birthday Celebrations

Congrats to our 宝贝 Laurel who’s going to be 1 year old on 3rd March. Yesterday we went to Raffles Town Club for the dinner celebration.

My sister-in-law wanted Laurel to choose the item from the tray. Its a Chinese tradition, altho I don’t know whats its called. Its especially significant for Hainanese. You are suppose to let the baby pick an item from the tray; Each item presents a different path or destiny in which the baby will most likely grow up to become. From what i seen in the movies, olden days people would put like a book or a sword. The book would mean the baby would grow up to be a scholar, the sword would mean a warrior. Pretty interesting because elders say that it is quite accurate. Video link @ http://comawhite.net/video/P2270025.MOV

Leap Day !

Yea, just came back and while waiting for my hair to dry, thought that I write something. Its like 6:46am now and I think I woke all my neighbours up. I was listening blasting music on my headphones and didn’t notice my speakers were on too. Happily listened to the music until my dad knocked on my door. =(

Anyways happy leap day to those I woke up !

100 FINE Day

Went to collect my textbooks after going to client’s office. The office was at North bridge road and that building has the smallest lift I have ever seen. I think the max it can carry is like 2 or 3 me. Went home to sleep after lunch because I only slept like 3 hours.

Also I received a parking fine today. $100 ! I was like wtf, I only parked in a loading/unloading bay for 5 minutes and I got a $100 fine. Wrote in an appeal letter to HDB already. Hope they can reply me with something I want to hear.. =( Only a week ago, I went to waterloo street and asked for a divine lot. It was a pretty lousy lot and also they warned about driving carefully and don’t park illegally. I think I should drive less this year.

Aimless Day

Went for some Japanese food this afternoon @ The Cathay. I think I’ve went there everyday for the past week. The food there was like average, service was ok. Ambiance is alil dark. The receipt after the meal was the longest I’ve ever seen, well at least for this mountain turtle here. They printed like every single thing we’ve ordered. And repeated things are printed over and over again instead of using a multiplier. Hence the result was this:

Its as long tall as the person in the background !

Wanted to catch a movie but missed the slot, went over to PS and missed the slot. Went back to Cathay again and missed another slot! Ended up at selegie for bean curd, then went to roam around aimlessly before going home.

Right now the weather is quite nice, 26 degrees on the thermometer. Felt really cold when I went out for supper awhile ago. MSN isn’t working and my cell is lagging like crap. Tired but not really sleepy, have to wake up early for work later tho. Hope I can land a part time job tomorrow too then at least I have something to do instead of slacking all day like for the pass week. Very 败家!

The Contender Asia

null

Just watch the first episode and I was so addicted. Its about muay thai fighting this time, 16 fighters from 12 different country. Singapore has one representative altho I don’t think he will make it. Those thai guys look pretty powerful, afterall it is their sport. Anyways, its on AXN, I’m not sure what time is for Singapore. I hope eztv can provide better quality ones for download if not you can grab it a mininova or perhaps wait for AXN to air it.

Favourite fighters.

Yodseanklai from Thailand the reigning world champ. A Killer behind that baby face.

John Wayne from Australia. Charismatic leader.

Rafik is a great fighter too. But I think his personality isn’t that great. Maybe if he comes back, it will spice the competition up.

Haze haze go away

Finally its raining! Hope the air won’t be so hazy after this. My nose has been suffering from all this crap for the pass week. I just had the idea of going back to see my ENT specialists @ SGH, but I’m can’t remember how long was the open date because I can’t find the appointment card.

I’ve been to afew ENT’s and honestly, I think SGH was the best. I don’t know is it the doctors there or the SOP there. But somehow they were the one whom actually did something for me also, they are much friendlier. I’ve been to other hospital where the doctors weren’t as friendly. Hence I would highly recommend people going to SGH although its quite pack there. Special thanks the otolaryngology staff esp Dr. Euan for doing my surgery and Dr Leong for helping with the allegeries thingy also Prof Tan from orthopedics.

24.02.08

I think I should write something each day like a journal just in case I lose my memory one day or something like that.

Ok. Just came back from watching “L change the world”. Spent 2 hours before the show playing Wii. The boxing is quite tiring, I like bowling best because I beat everyone at it. hah! But in reality, I’m like the worst bowler.

As for the movie, the plot rubbish, the pace is too slow and I only get to see Erica Toda for like 10 secs. Its worst than a naruto filler. Typical terrorists trying to wipe out the human race with some biological weapon and a hero comes to save the day story. Although in the end, L said no matter how talented you are, you can’t change the world alone. But whatever…

23.02.08

Went to met some old friends today. Its been really long, almost 11 years. Really interesting to see the first few friends you ever made, the first girl you ever liked after more than a decade. Kinda hard to describe that feeling, I think I have to invent a new word for that.

Too bad I couldn’t stay longer, had to go catch “Jumper”. Also I missed the arsenal game. I think its a really sad day for the gunners too. On the way home, heard an old song that I liked very much on the radio. Oasis’s stop crying your heart out. I still remember its from the movie Butterfly effect, one movie I liked alot too.

A brilliant story, with a tragic ending I feel. After trying all the different options to try and make things right, in the end, the ultimate choice was the one right in the beginning, 13 years ago. As for the theory, also known as the chaos theory, in a nutshell it would mean that small insignificant changes will ultimately cause big impacts in time to come. Which led me to think about some of the stupid things I have done. Currently looping the song my computer; just took a peek through the window blinds and the sun is out already but somehow I don’t feel sleepy yet…

Update 20.02.08

Nothing much to write about these days. Its either work, idling at home watching shows or playing games, out drinking or supper… etc.  Good thing school is going to start next week. Although things will be very different now, most of my friends have graduated and I’m alone to fight this final semester myself. I’ll just have to work harder than… hope things will get more interesting in the near future.

Chinese New Year

Busiest and most tiring CNY ever for me. Reunion dinner was special this year because we are joined by yet another new member, my niece. After dinner, as usual, we would go down to Chinatown to do some last minute shopping. This year my auntie Jenny also joined us. Down @ Chinatown I noticed that there are alot more people than usual. Even after countdown. We stayed till about 3am and still there was alot people. Not to mention much of that percentage was contributed our precious FT. But to be fair, where else would they be at CNY right?
