Top Gear Australia
Oct 28th
My friends often complains to me why the heck I bother to watch Fifth Gear because they feel it’s so much inferior to Top Gear UK. Well, now it’s my turn to complain. Top Gear Australia absolutely suck, maybe not totally but like 90%.
Just finished watching the 5th episode and I’m so sick of their rubbish. The presenters try too hard to be funny. They don’t go into much detail about the cars. News is boring, they stray too much from the topic. Star in a reasonable priced car is boring. Unoriginal idea, for example trying to make a boat out of a car and calling it a radical idea. For fuck sakes, TG UK did that already. And the thing I hate most the “What were they thinking” part. Obviously they are trying to original and copy the cool wall and instead came up with this brilliant idea. So, every week they will try their best to find cars to humiliate and insult by saying something they think is witty before sticking that piece of crap A4 paper on the board with a thumbtack. Genius! I think they should stick all of themselves up there.
So please, SBS do something!
Kranji Farm Resort
Oct 27th
Went to this newly opened Kranji Farm Resort on Saturday evening. The place is located somewhere along Neo Tiew Road. The area of the place is quite big, but the number of “apartments” weren’t that many. They used the concept of semi-d, hence each individual building is partitioned half, left and right for different customers. Outside, you have a drive way for you to park your car, theres a small garden which you can see from the bathroom because the bathroom walls are made of glass. Step inside, and you see that the room is rather small, just a bathroom and bedroom. Air conditioned with a wall mounted LCD TV. Behind theres a balcony.
Other things in the resort includes a spa, al fresco restaurant and pub. There are live bands at night over at the pub area and the singers/bands there are quite good. There’s a large piece of land behind which is going to be used for agriculture things I believe. But its not ready quite. One can rent a motor-powered bicycle to go around the resort and perhaps to the farms nearby. No pictures, at least from me because my phone and camera are dead. I found some links to a new report here.
The place cost $250 a night to rent. BBQ pit cost $80 to rent which I think include some food. Not really sure of the details tho since I’m not the one booking. I quite like the place because it’s not the usual noisy chalets you get at ECP or Pasir Ris. Oh and I saw on a banner that Jacky Wu will be coming during the opening of the place, but I didn’t catch the date. Of all the chalets I’ve been to, I would rank this behind Aranda Club and Safra resort.
A side note, I didn’t like is that more and more cars will be on Neo Tiew and they have constructed some speed bump along the road. This would mean that I can’t go there for rally sprints at night anymore.
James May’s Big Ideas
Oct 26th
Another great production from BBC and James. I believe this show is a continuation of James May’s 20th Century because this show feature things from the 21st Century and beyond. Those who are into science and technology, this is the show to watch. I caught the first 3 episodes and things they talk about are things that are closely related to everyday life, and how future development of various ingenuous inventions are going to affect mankind. It’s really quite an interesting show. Highly recommended.

Another sleepy day for me. Went to catch a midnight show a cine, slept only at about 3am and woke up like at 5 because my mum is going overseas again. Usually I don’t talk about what I ate for lunch, but today, I had chicken bryani for lunch. When I came home, I looked at whats for dinner and YES! bryani again. Haha. Oh well at least, this one was better then lunch. And miraculously, my phone is working again, tho I don’t think it’s gonna last long. I hope it will pull thru till Dec then I can get a new one. One thing I noticed tho, no MP3 = snoozing on the bus to work and back. I wonder is that a good thing or not.
No soccer this week hence I’m rotting at home. I think they canceled it because of the chalet coming up tomorrow. It feels kinda weird, coming back home with nobody around. Guess I’ll hit the sack soon, have to wake up at 3am for work.
Oh yes, something to add. Anyone knows where to get a Buckethead mask? I think it would be cool for Halloween.
Mission Soothsayer
Oct 20th
Finally took out my guitar after god knows how long. Kinda surprise the strings are still in tune and in good condition. What made me took out my guitar again? Buckethead’s Soothsayer. Hope I can master most parts of the song.

I lasted longer than Jack Bauer! 24 X 2. Didn’t slept on Thursday, went to work as usual on Friday, went to play soccer at night and then hang out until like 5 in the morning. It’s been quite a well since I felt so damn tired.
I slept for like 11 hours today and woke up to see that my phone is dead. This is the first time a phone died on me. Never thought that I’d feel kinda weird without a phone because I’m not really into phones. Guess I’ll have to wait till Christmas because my contract ends then. =(

Singapore Parking Fines Part 2
Oct 8th
A lil update from a popular post here. Information is gather from inputs from various people whom posted comments.
- Park with overdue coupon is like $6-10 dollars.
- Park without is like $30.
- Overnight parking is $50. There are disputes about only night parking coupons are allowed or if using regular $1X2 or $0.50X4 will do. I believe nowadays they only allow the yellow coupons
- Parking in loading/unloading bay $100
- Parking on double yellow line $100
- Parking in the handicap lot. $400 + demerit points I heard. Never do that.
- Parking with tampered coupon. They just need to suspect you only. URA will slap you with a $1500 fine but will usually go down to $800(which is still alot) after going to court. They will also send wardens to guard your car for 24 hours waiting for you to collect your car before towing it away.
First blood donation !
Oct 4th

Finally took the step and went for the donation today with Peter. The bloodbank has got more people there and I’ve expected. But with an appointment, its like VIP treatment. There priority to everything. The process was really painless. I was still hoping to feel how painful is that big needle going to hurt but instead, they gave you something else to numb the area. So the most exciting part was gone, as least for me. The donation process was really quick too.
