Finally had time to go down to Singtel Comcentre to get my iPhone replaced. Apparently the white ones seem get hairline cracks really easily. Good thing the service is fast, there’s a special counter for iPhones. The girl at the counter isn’t the fussy type hence I got my phone changed really quick. The painful part is coming home and having to jailbreak, resync and install the apps, themes, etc. But alls cool. Quite happy with Singtel here.

Letstakeawalk 2008

Letstakeawalk 100km wasn’t as easy as we have thought. We didn’t finish it, gave up after supper at downtown east Mcdonalds, about 60km I suppose. I guess it was the sun that gave me the headache some time after noon around Bishan checkpoint. Our team is kinda ill prepare too. Seeing people changing clothes, socks, having all kinds of tape and vaseline to prevent abrasion. Our team only had um… 1.5L of water, maps and thats all. I brought a towel and one more tshirt thats all. Not to mention no training or planning pior to the event. Haha.

I wonder how many teams managed to complete the walk in 28hrs. Before the event we were saying like finishing it around 2-3am according to marthon speed; which we found out later, was ridicious. So we thought we finish within the allocated time. Our pace was quite good at first, 5-6km/hr according to my GPS. We only slowed down significantly after Kembagan. I wonder did we use the wrong approach. Maybe we should take our time instead of trying to rush and tire ourself faster in the end. When we entered checkpoint 6 at Pasir Ris, we were told that we were within the first 20 teams to come in. And I notice most people that came in were like limping already. We did the math while having supper and we felt we wont be able to finish in time because our pace is dropping, and also taking more and longer rest. I decided to give up since I was getting a blister, headache and feeling cold/feverish. Peter and Gary felt tired too hence team BGP threw in the towel. From what I know, 99/298 completed the 100km.

Overall, it was a fun experience. Came across things we don’t usually see, or maybe don’t have time to pay attention to. Met many interesting people too, like there was 2 guys who dressed up as some Jamaican women or something. I wonder did they finish the walk because I see them at most of our checkpoints and their pace was quite fast. Another team was called Slowpokes! and they ain’t slow at all. Not sure if we will try this 100km again, but if we do, we better be much more prepared.

Today is the last day of the 6 weeks bootcamp training. It has been a interesting 6 weeks. Learned alot during this period. The instructors were pretty good, classmates were cool too. Notably, the few regulars like me who attended the whole or most parts of the course. Jack(Singapore), Shiva(Bangalore) and Michael(Melborne). I hope I have time to revise this weekend so I can take the exams next week.

Ok, I’m going to bed. Have to wake up early for the 100km Letstakeawalk. Umm. I’m not sure if I can complete that, but I’m guess it will be fun.

Haven’t have much to say recently. Haven’t been sleeping much lately too. 3 4 hours, sometimes none at all. Surprisingly I’m holding up really well for 2 weeks. Hence I have the right to comment on the lazy ass who always complain about being tired after work doesn’t want to step out of the house. Yes, you know who you are.

One of the best mornings I ever had. Woke up feeling better after afew coughs. The weather was cold, the sun was mild, the roads were clear. Saw the girl I kinda like on the way. As usual, she broads at Sixth Ave stop. I wonder why she always look alil grumpy, a smile would be great.

It’s starting to feel like December. The weather is getting cooler, about 22 23 degrees now. I hope the temperature stays like this. Also, it’s been a week, and I’m still sick. Looks like things are going to get more troublesome with this cough.

I’ve been watching both series of Hana Yori Dango this week, I must say it’s really good. Much better than the Taiwan version. Somehow, its more detailed in developing each character.

Ok. That’s it for this random post.

Don’t like the drugs but the drugs like me.

The freaking weather must be the main culprit for making me sick this week. Sunny now, raining the next. After 2 days MC, I still feel like crap. And I missed the chance to play with my niece on Sunday because I had to keep my distance in case I spread the virus. But anyways, I really like the medication I was prescribed, 3 pills + cough syrup = HIGH. The effect is almost as quick as alcohol. I’m gonna go get some and off to dreamland ^^ZZzzz
