Happy Chinese New Year

Its the year of the OX ! Finally, my favourite festival of the year. Because of the long holidays and having the chance to get together. But as you grow up, the mood and feeling seems to die of bit by bit each year. It’s still cool, but just not as cool as before.
Anyways, CNY is so tiring I don’t feel like typing anymore so here are some of my CNY essentials.

Update Left 4 Dead to v1.0.1.3 + Garena

I know alot of people are having problems patching L4D to work with garena so I’ll put up a more detailed guide.
Before patching, please install MS Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 x86 and also .Net Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1. .Net 3.5 SP1 can be skipped, but its recommended to install it.
Patching from 1.0.0.2 to 1.0.0.7
Install this 1.0.0.7 file.
Patching from 1.0.0.7 to 1.0.0.8
Install this 1.0.0.8 file.
To be able to play on garena, you need to disable steam. Hence install this file.
Patching from 1.0.0.8 to 1.0.0.9
Install this 1.0.0.9 file.
To be able to play on garena, you need to disable steam. Hence install this file.
Patching from 1.0.0.9 to 1.0.1.0
Install this 1.0.1.0 file.
To be able to play on garena, you need to disable steam. Hence install this file.
Patching from 1.0.1.0 to 1.0.1.1
Install this 1.0.1.1 file.
To be able to play on garena, you need to disable steam. Hence install this file.
Patch 1.0.1.3
Install this standalone 1.0.1.1 file.
Survival Update 1.0.1.3.
After that, go into your L4D directory, edit the rev.ini file. Scroll below and you should see a field “PlayerName=REVOLUTiON” Replace that with your desired nickname and save the file. If you are unable to edit the ini file, rename it to rev.txt, edit the file, then rename it back to rev.ini.
Or type setinfo name NICK

Finally went for a haircut. It’s been years since I when to Kimage Funan. Couldn’t find the old stylist anymore, but the one today was rather good too. He really took his time. I think I spent more than an hour inside. Anyways, overall the experience was good. Especially when there’s this cute girl working there. ^_^

The weather/climate recently is rather odd. It’s quite hot in the day, but very cold at night. Doesn’t feel like it hasn’t rain for a long time. Fields of green are now yellow, with sand and dry grass. I hate weather that makes my lips dry.
Anyways, Obama’s inauguration is a couple of hours away. Should be staying up to watch this so called historical moment. The stocks market should do well…
